The biggest part of the energy consumption buildings is for thermal comfort. Awareness on climate change and concerns about depletion natural resources made necessity to use renewable sources in evident. In this context, microalgae have high surface efficiency consume inorganic carbon, thus enabling carbon-neutral operation. They can be integrated into building façades with photobioreactors reduce demands. This paper aims clarify discuss role microalgal technologies energy-efficient architecture. performance generation properties are comprehensively reviewed. results show that provide dynamic shading insulation, potential significantly load demands increase performance. Consequently, besides façades, evaluation daylight, lighting, environmental cost performance, technical applicability aesthetics necessary.
